I just read this on AOL News; The father brought his son to practice late, so the coach made the boy run for his time missed. The father argued that his son shouldn't be punished for his (the father's) mistake, and the coach and father found an empty spot on the field and started a fist fight.
The father has a concussion, broken nose, and shatteres eye socket, and the coach is on suspension while the police investigate.
I though this was a great current example of what we had talked about concerning bad sportsmanship. Here is the website if you want to check it out:

I agree with the father, his son shouldn't have had to run because his father made him late. I remember when I was playing basketbal in Junior High, my parents would drive me to practice and I would be late all the time. The coaches never made me run becasue they knew it wasn't my fault. In High School it was different becasue it was up to you to be on time, and you had to suffer the consequences for your actions. But, this was no reason to get in a fist fight. First off they are both adults and should know better then to get in a "school yard" type brawl. Second it's not good to be fighting in front of the kids anyway, becasue it sets a bad example. Just another case of parents getting way to in to their childs sports.
