It was announced this weekend on a free UFC event that the new coaches of the next season of The Ultimate Fighter will be Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell. Tito Ortiz hasn't won a MMA fight in about 4 years. Although many people around this area love Tito, because he is the "Huntington Beach Badboy", he is no longer a competator in the MMA world. The other coach, Chuck Liddell, hasnt won a fight in about 2 years and has been retired. Both of these coaches have already had there big shot and made their money in the sport of MMA. Even though they will probably be good coaches, no one really wants to watch them fight at the end of the season. These coaching opportunities should be given to new up and coming fighters.

Very true, although both of these fighters would be great coaches because of their experience fighting they are getting a little old. I am sure that you saw Tito’s most recent fight against Forrest Griffin, it was sad to say the least. To add to that note the last thing that anyone has heard of Chuck Liddell is that he was a contestant himself, on “Dancing with the Stars.” They would be able to teach the contestants many things that they have picked up during their long careers, but as you said, they are getting old! Who knows we may even see a performance of the Foxtrot in the octagon. Liddell against Ortiz would have been a great fight five years ago when they both could move but now they are going to have a Randy Couture, Brandon Vera type slow and unexciting fight. Oh well, White knows that the show will bring in money because of the coaches and the fact that they hate each other as well but if the caliber of fighters is the same as season 10, I probably won’t watch.

Although these coaches are both aging, they have the experience that many up and coming coaches do not have. New up and coming fighters do not have the time to coach others how to fight in the octagon, rather they are training themselves to prepare for their fights. Chuck and Tito have been in the octagon many times, so they are going to be the most knowledgeable about the sport. A coach is someone who has experience and can pass their techniques and lifelong lessons to the athletes who are striving to become the best. Even though their fight at the end of the season may not be entertaining, the whole purpose of the show is to find the new "Ultimate Fighter". Also, Dana and Chuck are very close friends, so that may have given Chuck the upper hand when being chosen for the show. Both Liddell and Ortiz are very entertaining characters, so it should make for a very interesting season.
