I am a huge baseball and softball fan, so I was sad when they announced theses sports would no longer be apart of the summer Olympics. I understand the United States woman dominated softball and that can make in unappealing to have it in the Olympics. Although there are many sports which have had this problem and it only seams to be an issue when females are involved. So if there are too man sports or they are losing some popularity I can somewhat understand removing it. I get so upset when I hear of the sports they want to add. Golf and squash were attempting to be added and they did not make it thankfully. This is a process I would love to do research on because I would like to the standards and thought process that go into this. I would think popularity would be a big issue, but then how does white water rafting or speed walking survive? I know everyone has different taste, but shouldn't majority have the final say?

I completely agree, it's unfare to remove a sport based on domination. I feel the same way about wakeboarding in the x games. They removed wakeboarding because they felt is wasn't extreme enough when it is just as extreme as any other sport.
