Pacman and Marquez aftermath

The Pacquiao Marquez fight was a great fight.  Marquez deserved the long hard worked win.  Many Filipinos prides were hurt but like any other game there has to be a loser.  This picture was recently taken from my high school in the bay area the day after the fight.  I believe this is ignorant and shameless and I don't think it was necessary at all.  Despite the loss of a great pride and joy of my home country separation of races should not be allowed or tolerated.  I understand national pride but this is just disgusting to me.  This shouldn't spark up race differences because of this sign but if you watched the fight you can see the respect for each other between the fighters after the fight.  Why is there no respect here?

I believe that this act is more than just vandalism. It is distasteful, hateful, and offensive…I would say it is racism. Things like this are very uncalled for, and extremely immature. Pacquiao was often put on a pedestal, and was especially expected to win this recent fight against Marquez so he could move on to a more challenging fight with Mayweather. Because he was spoken of so highly by mostly Filipinos, people outside of the race would sometimes assume that everyone a part of the Filipino culture is stuck up. Being proud of a legendary athlete that shares the same culture as one may seem like an arrogant act to some. However, it is actually even more arrogant of people to think they are better just because of they are not “proud”. For example, the mocking of Pacquiao’s loss with acts like this public degrading comment is immature and intolerable.
