If you're unaware of the current NHL lockout, it's easily the worst of the most recent lockout series across professional sports leagues. NHL players are now considering de-certifying the NHLPA player union in an attempt to file antitrust lawsuits against their owners for locking out employees not belonging to a union.
To be honest I am sick and tired of all the hullabaloo surrounding these recent lockouts. I have only recently educated myself on the NHL lockout because I heard how serious it was getting. I firmly believe that professional athletes get payed damn good regardless of their owner revenue. I know that it is totally unfair, and they are practically slaves, and all the other arguments regurgitated over and over. Just play the game for the game. If you love what you do they say you would do it for free, right? Somehow we as humanity managed to force the world to revolve around money, an entity we created. We invented all of our current world problems and solutions. This may be a little philosophical to be applied to lockouts, but the bottom line remains that the love of the game should be the ultimate driving force.

I would have to completely agree with you regarding the NHL lockout! I wish that the coaches would just throw away their greed for a change and just let the players play. The fact that they want a raise or think that they are being mistreated as far as monetary gratification is concerned is ridiculous. People should think about the rest of society in terms of fairness. As the overall revenue for the NHL reached $3.4 billion last season, that is so much more that any average man would make in a lifetime. Sports are supposed to be enjoyable and not involve politics, but that is not the case anymore. Everything would be a lot simpler if there was just an agreement on who gets what. The day that they come to a resolution will be time that it is too late for the season to get started. However, my love for the game of hockey will still stand and I still have faith that they will come up with a solution to this problem.
